All In A Week's Work
My job is to get people/businesses something they want for something they have. This week I helped with over $20,000 in trades of goods and services. Hotels purchased waste recepticals. Retailers booked travel accommodations. Restaurants gave incentives to their staff. Maintenance companies paid for payroll and accounting services. Fashion retailers purchased wholesale products for resale. This and a lot more took place because of barter.
Each week I reflect on my work and try to pick out a good "chain of trades" that I can be proud of. Although each transaction is done in bank-like, realtime, online dollar for dollar trades and not direct product for product, it is still amazing to see the ripple effect of being in a barter organization.
This week my favorite synergistic story is... A retail store owner uses their NuBarter dollars for family counceling as their wedding is in a few weeks and they're blending a family; the family counceling practice purchased human resourse services as they expand their center; the human resource agency purchased office suppies; the office supply company purchased expo space at a tradeshow; the tradeshow company is getting a quote from the cabinet company for his kitchen; the cabinet company is working on a marketing plan they will launch this summer. All the above mentioned trades make over $10,000 in cash saved for these businesses.
In this economy that seems for the most part to be on a downward spiral, NuBarter is happy to say that it's numbers for the first quarter are 64% above the same time last year. New clients are coming into NuBarter daily because they see the positive impact we're having in the business community.
