Take that treadmill in your bedroom that you purchased with good intentions, but now use for a very expensive clothes rack, and trade it for something your really want, like a gym membership, or some new clothes.
Remember the beautiful dishes you got for a wedding present that were totally not your style? Now the box of brand new dishes sits in a box in the cupboard. Trade those for a nice dinner out, a haircut, a collection of books…
The wedding ring you no longer wear…because you got a divorce…trade it for that vacation to where you’ve been wanting to go but never had.
The video games your 13 yr old has beat over and over and never picks up now because “that’s lame” can be turned into $50 in trade for something else he wants, like a new game.
Are you the lucky one who inherited Grandpas record collection? Do you even have a record player? Why you’re stuck with these old albums no one knows. Offer them up on NuBarter and give a tax deductible donation in Grandpa’s name to a non-profit member of NuBarter.
Unexpected litter of puppies? Offer them on NuBarter to an approved home and accept trade dollars for the rehoming fee.
What in the world did he drag home now? Another fishing rod? More tackle? Clean out the storage shed to make room. Sell a pre-owned rod and reel on NuBarter. Use your trade dollars for something you’ve been wanting…some name brand body treatment lotion and a subscription to your favorite magazine…maybe even a fishing magazine for him.
Ready for a different look? Changing furniture or appliances? Other NuBarter members are probably looking for what you have and would love to trade. Sell your living room set on NuBarter and use your trade dollars for a lovely framed art piece for above the mantle.
Moving to the city? No longer need the shovels and rakes? Other NuBarter members are ready to buy your pre-owned lawn tools and equipment.
Maybe you don’t own a business right now but you’ve always wanted to start one. Talk to NuBarter about intrest free business financing.

All In A Week's Work
My job is to get people/businesses something they want for something they have. This week I helped with over $20,000 in trades of goods and services. Hotels purchased waste recepticals. Retailers booked travel accommodations. Restaurants gave incentives to their staff. Maintenance companies paid for payroll and accounting services. Fashion retailers purchased wholesale products for resale. This and a lot more took place because of barter.
Each week I reflect on my work and try to pick out a good "chain of trades" that I can be proud of. Although each transaction is done in bank-like, realtime, online dollar for dollar trades and not direct product for product, it is still amazing to see the ripple effect of being in a barter organization.
This week my favorite synergistic story is... A retail store owner uses their NuBarter dollars for family counceling as their wedding is in a few weeks and they're blending a family; the family counceling practice purchased human resourse services as they expand their center; the human resource agency purchased office suppies; the office supply company purchased expo space at a tradeshow; the tradeshow company is getting a quote from the cabinet company for his kitchen; the cabinet company is working on a marketing plan they will launch this summer. All the above mentioned trades make over $10,000 in cash saved for these businesses.
In this economy that seems for the most part to be on a downward spiral, NuBarter is happy to say that it's numbers for the first quarter are 64% above the same time last year. New clients are coming into NuBarter daily because they see the positive impact we're having in the business community.

Meeting Needs Results In Paradigm Shift
My long-time friend owns an HVAC company and he’s pretty anti-barter…or should I say WAS anti-barter. He just fell in love with a woman. He called to tell me he found “The One,” and then said, “Hey, do you have three carat diamond engagement rings on that barter thing?” “We have dozens of jewelry stores so take your pick,” I told him. He told me over the phone what he wanted and I called a couple jewelers that accept NuBarter as payment. We found the perfect ring for his perfect girl.
Now I had to find a NuBarter member that needed some HVAC work done so he’d have the barter to buy the ring ($3000.) Just so happens that Coosh’s Bayou Rouge in Tallahassee needed some refrigeration equipment installed and serviced. They were able to save their restaurant $2000 in cash by trading for the work from this gentleman’s company. My love struck friend was still shy by $1000 so we found another NuBarter member that is building a home and they gave him a $1000 down payment to install their HVAC unit and duct work.
All three parties benefited. Truly a win-win-win situation. The restaurant has a working system and saved $2000 in cash. The home builder is saving $1000 on the install of their HVAC system. My friend has a $3000 ring for his bride.
My friend and I talked a little longer about the whole deal that had just transpired. I let him know that he’d really be needing to trade now. The ring was just the start. I said, “Now you can trade for the wedding dress, tuxedos, photographers, bands, DJ’s, caterers, even a honeymoon. Just think of the next $3000 you can trade for!”
I suppose with barter, like anything else, nothing beats first hand experience. I’ve been friends with this person for a long time and I think they thought I worked for some kind of MLM, or scam, or backwoods horse trading thing. It’s funny how perceptions change when something meets your needs. If you’ve been skeptical about barter companies, perhaps it’s time to do a little research on the industry. Did you know that barter companies like NuBarter account for over 9 billion dollars of annual spending? If your business isn’t trading, then you’re missing out on your share of that 9 billion.
Don’t own your own business? Ask me about how a NuBarter personal account can help you save cash. If you have something of value, you can trade what you have for what you want today.

Why I'm All About The Barter
I'm getting married in June and so far there's NOTHING we've had to pay cash for. I'm so happy to be getting married and to NOT go into debt for it.
My beautiful dress was purchased in trade through NuBarter from http://www.thebridalshop.com/.
The engagement and wedding rings came from NuBarter member, Harkleroad Jewelers in Savannah GA.
Coosh's Bayou Rouge (www.cooshs.com) will be catering for the reception, paid NuBarter.
The flowers from the table displays to the boutonnières to the brides bouquet are comming from Flowers at Whitemarsh, paid in NuBarter
Our photographer, Bunny Ware, of Southern Events will be trading us her services through NuBarter as well. www.southernimagesphotography.com
The Honeymoon (which we haven't decided exactly where yet) Will either go to Hilton Head SC, or Savannah GA - Or maybe both! But we're trading for the hotels, restaurants, attractions tickets and shopping using NuBarter.
Wedding planning is one thing...now we have to combine two lives/households. He has two kids, I have two kids, we plan to have one together. Right now we have 4 acres with a 3/2 Mobile Home. NOT GOING TO WORK!
Our dream is to build a log cabin on our land...Just so happens that's on trade too! No really, we just put $181,230.00 in barter dollars as a down payment on a $439,000.00 log cabin home. Mountain Creations is a barter member. www.mountaincreations.com Go see the Fox Chase model on their site to see our house.
Mountain Creations is just for the kit. We also have to have someone put it together, and get all the other materials we need for it. NuBarter is helping us there too! Ruffin Trading, a NuBarter member, sells building materials on trade. www.ruffintrading.com is where we will be acquiring a lot of supplies from for our GC.
For our appliances like hot water heater, lighting, bathtubs/sauna, stove, range, fridge, etc we're going to trade with www.materialsdirect.com
Heath Allabaugh, HVAC, will be trading us for the work to put in our duct work, furnaces/air conditioner.
Your Plumber, will be plumbing the house for NuBarter dollars.
Premier Tree Service is clearing the land where the log cabin will sit. And getting site work complete for the basement to be poured.
Now we have to furnish the thing. Well when the time comes for that....we're going to be using barter for it as well! There is so much furnature available on trade.
www.blackseagallery.com
How do I have the trade to do this? We have a couple of retail stores. One brick and mortar in Tallahassee, and two online stores. We accept trade and actively promote our products and then spend our trade on what we need for our lives.
Do you want to TRADE for a better life? I'd be happy to show you how we do this.

Three Reasons Why Your Trade Exchange Membership Is So Valuable
1. Lower your Customer Acquisition Cost!Your cost for customer acquisition in the barter marketplace, by working through your trade exchange, is lower than in the cash marketplace. Unlike the cash world, where you have to hunt and pay for every lead and sale through the expenditure of time, effort, and money, your barter business is “pushed” to you through the efforts of the exchange (and your trade broker)
2. You’re fishing where the fish are…and that’s quite a difference!Greater Customer Retention! Mail order catalog consultant Jack Schmid says that only 50% of first time buyers ever come back for a second (catalog) purchase. Ouch! In the barter world the percentage of first-time buyers returning, is much higher. Why? Simply because every one of us operates in our own best interests. The trade exchange system rewards one for doing business in this manner, because you’re buying products at one’s “barter cost.” It is always the best and most economical way to make a purchase. So a trade client is more of a “core customer” than a cash paying customer. They’ll always frequent your establishment if all things are equal.
3. Ever Increasing Sales! The real measure of a healthy business lies in the strength, depth and length of it’s relationships with it’s core customers. A satisfied barter customer will go out of their way to continually do business with you…buying more as well as placing larger orders.

Could Your Company Use Barter To Be Better Equipped?
This world is geared toward technology. We simply can’t live without it. It’s not he way of the future, it’s the way of right now.
Companies spend billions of dollars each year on technology services and products. If your business is a member of a trade exchange you have the dynamic advantage of trading for what your competition pays cash for, goes in debt for…
Internet services, web stores, e-commerce solutions, software, repair, updates, design, hosting and more. If you’re paying cash for these services you are spending cash unnecessarily. You could be trading your own products or services for the technology solutions you need.

What's Your Barter I.Q.? Imagination Quotent
Admittedly, we’re all creatures of habit and our prior conditioning. Since we were little kids we’ve all been conditioned to think “cash.” But when you stop to think about it, actually what we want is not the little green pieces of paper, but what the cash will buy us.
Through the imaginative use of barter, the same results can be accomplished with out first having to earn the cash. What is involved? Essentially nothing more than using your ability to look at a situation from a different perspective.
It’s the creative way to compete. For example, when you look at a shelf loaded with slow-moving widgets can you imagine exchanging them for something else…a new ad layout, the printing of your company brochure, or a page of advertising?
Or can you visualize the unfilled time slots in your practice, being transformed into a profitable business meeting over a sumptuous meal in a local restaurant, or an enjoyable meal with your loved one?
How about your seeing your production line operating full-time and using the extra production for bartering purposes to acquire that new resurfacing needed in the company parking lot?
Obviously, only you truly know what your situation is…what your company and personal needs are. We all have them and all that is needed to get started is a little time for brainstorming.
Next, consider what items would help your company’s growth and expansion. Then add many of the “dreams” you just couldn’t afford on a cash basis, like luxury vacations. Your list will g-r-o-w. And you’ll be filled with excitement anticipating the exhilarating days ahead!
Of course to complete the trading cycle, you should realize that “to get, you must give.” So be sure to compile a list of what you can trade…your products, services, use of your space or equipment.
Then set up a long-term trading partnership with your trade exchange, so you can rely on acquiring those needs on a regular, on-going, basis.

Use Trade To Assist Your Most Valued Customers
Some very successful companies, members of trade exchanges, have helped their better customers do more business, because it comes back to them…in more business.
An envelope manufacturer hires copy writers to assist his clients in developing new sales campaigns. The only promise he secures from this clients is that they “test” the copy writer’s ideas. The manufacturer has sold millions of additional envelopes as a result of this simple assist.
A printer regularly funds local advertising for several clients because he knows the more sales they make, the more printing he will do for them.
A dental supply company makes available to their dentists various professional services (accounting, marketing, tax preparation, management consulting) because as the dental practices grow, they will buy more dental supplies.
What could your company do on trade to solidify client relationships and increase sales?

Barter Financing
Recently we spoke to a client of a trade exchange, who, admittedly, is a staunch proponent of barter credit as a way to reduce his bank borrowing. He explained that at one time he was a veteran of the banking scene, and had lines of credit as high as $250,000 in the past. No longer, now that he’s discovered barter.
Asked to compare the borrowing from a bank to that of his trade exchange, he smiled and replied, “How can I compare the two experiences? With the barter company, all I had to do was give them a current financial report on my company, as well as sign a commitment that we would provide $75,000 worth of our services to members of the barter network. To get that same $75,000 from a banker, I’d be on the phone about 40 times and would have to complete numerous forms. They would require every single piece of personal information about my family, right down to my children’s birth certificates.”
This statement exemplifies why the barter option is gaining significance in the world of financing. The client summed it up best: “Why would anyone want to go through the aggravation of dealing with a bank when the same thing can be accomplished more easily and quickly through their trade exchange?”
Are there purchases in your future that could be financed through trade? Offsetting your cash debts with trade is definitely worth consideration to savvy business owners.

All In A Week's Work
It's late and I can't sleep. Sometimes this job gets to you, but in a good way. There are so many deals to complete that it's hard to make your mind stop even if it is 1:00 on a Friday night (Saturday AM).
Helping companies succeed and helping my clients save cash is rewarding. Some of the accomplishments I am most proud of this week...
I booked a trip for the owner of an answering service company. He's taking his family of six on a week-long Jamaican vacation at an all inclusive resort (that comes complete with nanny service for the 4 kids!) (Bartered it for $4000)
For a gift basket company owner, I booked a private condo for his family of 7 for their Disney World vacation they are taking next week. FULL week for just $600 trade.
An owner of a carpet cleaning company just saved $1040.00 by trading floor cleaning jobs for print media.
We landed a $2,000.00 internet marketing, complete web package sale, for an e-commerce solution company and in turn, they're using that $2,000.00 in trade to pay for much needed medical care and a life insurance policy for their staff. One of the partners is also expecting a baby and they've placed an order for baby clothes from one of the other retailer's that takes trade.
One of my clients sells portable warehouses and we helped them sell a building for $16,999 in trade. That trade is going toward a down payment on a log cabin home they're building on barter.
The owner of a wholesale clothing company is planning her wedding on trade and let's see so far... The dress $410 barter. The ring $625 barter. The photographer $1999 barter. The honeymoon $1600, the caterer $3500.
One of our art galleries is hosting an event and they are using one of the restaurants that accepts trade to provide food and spirits.
Another restaurant is getting $2,000 in equipment repair and installation for their refridgeration system from the HVAC company...who in turn, is using that $2,000 to purchase a marquis diamond engagement ring to go with his upcoming proposal.
In the last 10 days I've completed about $50,000.00 in barter transactions. That boggles my mind.

Get Cash Back Two-Fold From Trade Advertising
Does your company sell a nationally branded product? Do you own a franchise? Many corporations give co-op dollars (cash) to their resellers or ‘sister’ companies. If your company sells a product or service that is eligible for co-op dollars, you can make additional money on trade advertising. (not to mention all the new cash business you will receive from the ads)
Example 1. You’re a restaurant that sells a certain type of deli meat. You purchase radio advertising on trade. Your ad mentions that you serve this certain food. -OR- your menu (that you printed on trade of course) puts the logo of that meat company on each piece. The manufacturer pays you cash in co-op dollars.
Example 2. You own an auto repair shop that uses one brand of oil. Using their logo and tag-line in your magazine, website, or signage (that you purchase on trade) may get you a check cut from your vendor or credit on your next order.
If you’re looking for advertising opportunities on trade…they’re out there!

10 Ways Barter Can Play An Important Role In The Building Of Your Assets
Both the value and the borrowing power of a typical business can be increased if the business owner takes action to increase cash-flow and reinforce it's predictability. And barter can play a major role in the enhancement of business strategies. If you're so busy earning a living on a daily basis that you don't take time to focus on activities which can make your business more valuable, more predictable, and more manageable...here are some suggestions. Use these 10 strategies to increase your company's market value. In almost every case barter can play an important role in maximizing the value of these strategies.
1. Constantly contain costs by acquiring needed products and services whenever possible at your lower marginal cost of doing business through barter.
2. Diversify your customer base by bringing in new business through your trade exchange.
3. Improve operating efficiencies by trading for equipment or services that increase company efficiency, i.e. computers, fax machines, phone systems, and other services.
4. Make the business more recession-resistant by continually broadening your base of customers. This can be achieved by sustained advertising, through the efforts and assistance of your trade exchange...which builds your company's name and develops a stronger image in the marketplace.
5. Use working capital more productively by taking advantage of every trading opportunity. Replace cash purchases with barter purchases.
6. Encourage internal teamwork through the use of rewards, bonuses, and perks for employees...all of which are available on trade.
7. Improve profit margins by trading at your marginal cost of doing business. Your barter or marginal cost of doing business does not include your fixed costs, as these are stable and covered by your on-going cash business.
8. Increase sales by developing new products or services. More barter sales mean more cash flow and money for research and development of new products and services.
9. Improve market share automatically when barter sales are obtained.
10. Emphasize non-cyclical products and services by balancing out the boom and bust cycles of the cash world. Adding barter to your arsenal is a counter-cyclical business strategy.
